Tower Isles Supports COJO at Their 22nd Annual Charity Ball
On Saturday, December 3, 2016, Tower Isles, among numerous advocates of the Children of Jamaica Outreach, Inc. came out in support of the organization's 22nd annual Charity Ball. The event took place at The Hilton New York Hotel by JFK Airport in Queens from 7:30 PM - 2:30 AM.
The MC for the event was Dervan Malcolm from Jamaica's own Power 106FM. Speakers included Priscilla Standard (Friend of COJO), Mrs. Younna Bailey Magalhães (Vice Consul, Consulate General of Jamaica, New York), Robert DeSpuza, Sr. (COJO Board Memeber), His Excellency Mr. Courtenay Rattray (Jamaica's Permanent Representative to the United Nations), and Gary M. Williams ( COJO Chairman & Founder). Music was provided by Rick Dalgetty & Tropical Rhythms, and Empea Entertainment.
The COJO Community Service Award for 2016 was given to Carol Brooks-Thompson for her continued efforts in making a difference. Ms Brooks-Thompson was acknowledged for her roles as a memeber of Team Carib Connect, Dare to Care, the Mustard Seed Communities, Children of Faith, and the Jamaica Cancer Society. She also participates in no less than 13 charity walks per year.
In the past two years alone, COJO has contributed over $50,000 in tuition scholarships, laptops, and school supplies to various colleges, universities, and children homes.
